This Grateful Dead mix was a slight departure from form in that it didn’t stick to a single song. I’d done other multi-song mixes, most of those were not much more than what I might have put on a cassette were we permanently stuck in the 1980’s. This one played out a bit differently.
Sitting at my day job, I grabbed a pen, hearing some Grateful Dead in my head, and began sketching some ideas for what would become “Blues for the World”. Ultimately, the work of selecting music and shaping the mix would take me away from this initial plan but, here were the seeds. A useful moment of inspiration, captured on paper and transformed into an actual thing. I love when that happens. Who doesn’t?

"Blues for the World"
A Grateful Dead mix by Rowjimmy
2008-09-01
Daydreaming at work as a boorish meeting wore on, I played myself a mental set of some Grateful Dead.
What I heard (in my head) sounded pretty cool and I thought to recreate it. I took some notes during
the meeting about this possible mix and, immediately afterwards, set to work compiling the material.
Here's a scan of the notes I made during the meeting:

You'll notice that I didn't exactly re-create the entire thing but the groundwork was there and now,
You can hear the result.
Enjoy.

Additional notes:
Thanks to the GDThread @ week4paug.net for their input/seeds/etc...
Some post-processing was applied to individual clips and the mix as a whole to 'tweak' various sonic properties.
If you seek out the specific shows utilized here, they may not sound the same... (which is why I'm not listing db.etree shnids.)
Enjoy.
