Welcome to the Second First Edition of Skybals and Saxascrapers. This
site was initially launched in mid-1999 as a purely self-centered
collection of various writings which I thought would be happier posted
online rather than wallowing unseen in a notebook. (Note: It seems I'm of
the delusion that wallowing unseen in public is better than doing so in
private. So be it. Without delusions, what's the use?)
Along the way I've managed to coax some text from a couple contributors
whose work you'll see here. I hope you find their writings as interesting
as I do.
Skybals et al is not a collective of like-minded folks, although I agree
with much of B.E. Hyman's essay on music and C. Hebbe's an old friend
whose name you may see crop up when wading through the 'Review Archive'.
The archive itself is on a growth spurt with shows from my past being
added sporadically in order to fill out a picture of "Why I See Shows".
Why this picture needs painting, I'm not sure but, as the song goes," The
Journey Is The Prize."
