Big Game

Well, kids, Saturday is the big game. Actually they’ve all been big games for a few weeks now but, this is the playoffs.

So, I know you’re all fired up and think the ‘Skins are on a roll but I have one thing to say to you

Chickens, don't count them

R.I.P. Sean Taylor

Sean Taylor

Washington Redskins Safety, Father, Son and reformed bad-boy; Sean Taylor died last night from a gunshot wound that he sustained in an apparent home invasion early Monday night.

“This is just such a tragic, horrible, unnecessary death — another example of the incessant violence in this city and this country,” Richard Sharpstein, Taylor’s attorney, said early Tuesday morning.

Taylor, drafted 5th overall in 2004, had made a name for himself as a stopping force with little equal on the field. His off-field legal difficulties appeared to have been put in the past leaving behind a stronger, more mature, player.

He will be missed on the field but, even more so, our thoughts are with his family in this sad time.

Hail To The Redskins

The Skins pulled off an overtime victory, yesterday, against the Miami Dolphins, to open their 75th Anniversary season.

For The Win

Sadly, Jon Jansen is out for probably the entire season due to a fractured dislocation of his ankle. Just typing that makes me want to limp. Sounds like it’d hurt like crazy. Here’s hoping he heals well and fast. A Rookie named Heyer, who is actually a left tackle, came in for Jansen and did a decent job. Decent enough that we were able to run to his side (successfully) and that he didn’t give up any big sacks. Props go to him for delivering an important performance.

Of course, my personal MVP is Shaun Suisham. The kicker was 3 for 3 in Field Goal attempts including the game-winning 39 yarder shown above.
