Welcome

New Album, “As We Know It”

Out Sep 17 on CD, Digital DL & Streaming

Friends, my new album, “As We Know It”, will be release on Sep. 17. Pre-order will be on Friday Sep. 6.

“As We Know It” is a set of seven songs about such charming topics as climate disaster, war, and the county fair. Dire all, but there is some light in there. If a song is supposed to be a mirror on the world around me, then I suspect that I may have landed quite near that mark. Sonically, the album ranges from the clamor of electric guitars, to the quiet simple sound of strings and wood.
There’s a lot in here.

About

“rowjimmy” is J. M. Hart: Songwriter, Podcaster, Music Fan, & Family Man.

A life-long Virginian, he lives with with wife and children a comfortable distance away from both Richmond and Washington, D.C. yet within striking distance should a worthwhile concert make the calendar. His primary vice is collecting records; a habit he picked up in 1990. There appears to be no cure.

Jonathan has been writing songs for decades, mostly keeping to himself but, in recent years, he’s shared a couple with Colorado-based band, The Jauntee and, as of September, 2020, he’s begun releasing songs via Bandcamp. You can find his work at jmhart.bandcamp.com.

He can be found discussing The Grateful Dead and other tenuously related music as the host & producer of The Brokedown Podcast.

Twitter Mastodon , BlueSky, and Instagram are all great places to try and keep up with the latest happenings. YouTube is also a good spot to find videos from shows he’s attended.

The blog is less active these days but you can access the latest posts here.

Additionally, he has written for Phish.net.

When he’s not doing all of that or spending time with his wife & children, he’s writing songs or listening to records.
